ZOOM Event Modern Migrants - A Female Perspective

We are excited to announce a pre-show panel for Amaterasu by Papergang Theatre.

On Sunday 5th April at 11am, Modern Migrants: A Female Perspective, Cecilia Gragnani, Tess Hodgson-Sakamoto, Gabby Wong talk with director Ailin Conant about modern migration. FREE but please register here: bit.ly/ModernMigrants


Themes: Third-culture identities/How the age of our immigration affects our relationship to the politics of our society /Women and motherhood.



Ailin Conant is a Japanese- American director with a passion for daring new works of theatre that engage audiences with untold and under-told stories in a visual, visceral way.


Cecilia Gragnani is a proud Italian who also performs and writes for stage, screen and audio. She studied theatre and music, spent a year at the Parisian Sorbonne and got a degree in Modern Literature. She moved to the UK in 2008 to complete her studies at Drama Centre.


Tess Hodgson-Sakamoto is a 2020 graduate of East15 specialising in acting and stage combat, who has a love for writing and creating stories. Tess also plays Aya in Amaterasu and is passionate about the representation of marginalised communities and narratives and hopes to reflect this in the work that she creates.⁠


Gabby Wong is an Actor/ Writer and a Konglish third culture kid. Hong Kong born and British educated, she studied Politics with Economics at University of Bath where she became heavily involved with the student theatre. She then went onto train as an actor at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre.
