-sPSFK6gThe Papergang Matinee Workshops have begun with a bang! We have a stellar line up, so please join us to support new writing by British East Asian playwrights:

Sunday 29th Nov at 3pm – Lactose Intolerant by Naomi Christie
Sue is debt-ridden and poor. Her estate in Manchester is a prison for her and her son, Luke. A new man, Bill, offers hope of something better. And a series of unusual deals with a middleman are offering her a way out. But when one last deal requires the help of a reluctant Luke, she places in danger everything that is most important to her – her family.

Sunday 6th Dec at 3pm – Orchids by Joyce Lee
When art student, Violet, discovers dark truths about her family’s factory in China, she finds herself in a bitter battle against her closest surviving relative, her Uncle.  Fighting for a better world, Violet is forced to face herself, her family’s past, and supernatural encounters.  But can she really make a difference?

Saturday 12th Dec at 3pm – Sho_fu by Lucy Sheen
What happens to the survivors of war? Those who were abused, tortured, who became pregnant and had their babies taken away. Can a life be rebuilt? Can you ever escape the past?

Cast includes Pik-Sen Lim, Jennifer Lim and Joan Walker.
